I was invited to talk at Statens Musikverk, Stockholm. Focusing on my postdoctoral position within MUSAiC at KTH, I talked about the two ethnographic studies (one on AI music service users, the other on the encounter between Irish traditional music and AI); on the shifting agencies between actors in the music assemblage now when AI affects music creation, production and listening; and a critical examination of both corporate and academic use of “democratisation” as argument for the place of AI in music and society more broadly.
