On 26 September 2024, I gave the talk “From Birdsong to Deepfakes: Attending to Challenges for Music in the 21st Century” at the Posthumanities Hub. In this presentation, which covers topics from my PhD and my current position as a postdoctoral researcher at KTH, I argue why posthumanist perspectives are needed to understand the socio-cultural role of music in a time defined by the sixth mass extinction and the fourth industrial revolution.
